Stocks

You will be able to make a lot of money if the stock value of your stock increases. If the corporation has this policy, you will be able to have a dividend as well.

Bonds

If you get a bond, you will basically be giving a loan to the borrowing company or even the government. When you buy these, you will have to get money back with an interest. You will get government bonds from the US government that will be provided without any risk.

You can get regular payments in installments from bonds. These are annual or biannual payments. You can also get a payout on your bond investment in total after the bond matures.

 Index Funds

Index funds are mutual funds used to track indices. These are not managed by special managers who will curate investment portfolios.

They are cheaper and their risks are only dependent on the investment decisions in the index fund. You will earn dividends and interests, and you can even profit from selling them off.

However, index funds will charge you expense ratios so you need to be mindful of them before making an investment decision.

Exchange-traded Funds

An exchange-traded fund or an ETF is an index fund that is used to track benchmark indices. You can buy and sell them on the exchange like a stock and their price changes all the time. When the ETF appreciates in value, you can sell it and earn profits from it. You can also earn income in the form of dividends and interest from the ETFs.

Options

You can use options, contracts to deal in stocks, to buy or sell stocks on a particular day. You can sell the stock at a set price to earn income. You don’t necessarily have to buy or sell stocks in this kind of investment. It is perfectly acceptable to let the option expire upon the completion of the agreed-upon period.
